This is the view of our funeral home from S. Houston Lake Road. At night, the facility is well lit, as are the large parking areas, and the sign that is out by the road. We are very easy to locate, and accessible to all major state roads and Interstate 75. |
Our chapel has a separate entrance, and can also be reached through the main foyer. This is the main entrance to the Chapel, with the flagpole in front of it. The flag is lowered to half-staff on the day of any Veteran's funeral service. |

 | Our main foyer is the first thing that families and guests see when they come in the main entrance. On the wall facing the doors there is a large picture of the late Jimmy McCullough hanging over a buffet table that very often has register books on it for friends to sign. Everyone loves this picture, and if they knew Jimmy, they will usually tell us a story about him that will undoubtedly make us laugh. Also, there is a comfortable sitting area in the foyer which is used at night visitations or while families are waiting to see one of the staff. The main foyer is open and spacious, and along with the entire facility was designed to make you feel like you are in a home. We tried to give our new facility a feeling unlike most funeral homes, so we chose brighter colors and fabrics and tried to stay away from the typical dark, somber look. The many families we have served in this home have told us that they find it to be a tremendous improvement, and that it actually helps their outlook during an already difficult time. |
Just around the corner from the main foyer is our hospitality lounge. We love this room and so do our families. It has several round heart-pine tables with comfortable chairs and always a pot of fresh coffee and a newspaper. So many times there are family members or friends who come to provide support, but don't want to go in to the arrangement room…this gives them somewhere to sit that doesn't feel so formal. Folks gather here at night during visitations as well. There is a telephone in here for public use. Additionally, there is a television that will keep children busy for a while, and can also be used to view an ongoing funeral in the chapel, via closed circuit television. This is helpful when a crying baby causes someone to need to leave the service, or in the event of overflowing guests. |

We have two comfortable rooms which we use to meet with families and make funeral arrangements, or pre-arrangements. These rooms can accommodate from 7 to 10 people quite comfortably, which helps when the family is large and everyone wants to be involved in the conference. |
Our selection rooms were designed to create a less threatening and more informative atmosphere for families. We know that this is one of the hardest parts of coming to make arrangements, choosing the casket or urn seems to make it "real" for many people. Our selection rooms are laid out not only according to casket material, but also by grouping the different caskets and personalization items into different themes. For example, there is a "Remembering Her" section with more feminine caskets and other personalization items; the "To Serve & Protect" section has several options that would be appropriate for someone in law-enforcement, a fireman, or someone in or retired from the military. Our hardwood caskets are all grouped together, with information on why some people might choose hardwood instead of a metal casket. All of this is to help make the decision a little easier by providing information and ideas so that the family can make a selection that they will look back on and be comfortable with. We offer a wide price range, and if none of our many selections appeals to you, we can order a casket for you and have it here the next day at no extra cost to you. Our casket provider is Batesville Casket Company out of Batesville, Indiana. They have been in the business for more than 100 years, and are the finest manufacturer of hardwood and protective metal caskets in the world. We are very proud of our selection, and the quality of our offerings.

Situated between our over-sized viewing rooms we have 2 separate areas we call the Common Areas. Both of these are somewhat like a living room with several seating areas in each, along with a working gas fireplace. These fireplaces are very popular with guests in the winter months. These areas serve as a place where those attending the visitations can sit down and visit with each other or the family, and also allow people who would prefer not to view the body to be able to come and visit the family without having to go inside the viewing room. The common areas have viewing rooms that open up into them from both sides. We have 3 very large viewing rooms that can be converted into 6 viewing rooms (still generous in size) when the need arises. All our viewing rooms have sofas and chairs inside, in addition to the seating provided in the Common Area. One photo shows the fireplace, one shows the view looking out into the foyer and into the "Red" Viewing Room, and one is of our "Blue" Viewing Room.

Seating more than 300 people very comfortably, our chapel is the largest of any funeral home in Houston County. Handicapped accessible, our pews are also spaced to give slightly more legroom and the seats provide lumbar support, which is especially helpful to older guests. Our chapel has its own central air system, and remains cool even when full to capacity. The sound system and organ provide full, rich, beautiful sound. Vocalists may choose to perform in front of the family, or if they prefer they can sing from the music room and remain out of sight. In the event of overflow, the chapel has a closed circuit monitor that allows both live video and sound to be piped to all parts of the funeral home. Additionally, we can both video or audio tape any service held in our chapel for families who might desire this. As the picture shows, our chapel is a magnificent place to celebrate the life of a loved one. |
