Ernest Wayne Bartlett

Ernest Wayne Bartlett passed away peacefully at his residence on the morning of Monday, March 19, 2018. He was 75.

Ernest was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 31, 1943, the son of the late Ernest Raymond and Ida Elizabeth King Bartlett. He was a proud United States Navy Vietnam Veteran who loved his country and talking about serving his country. Subsequent to his military service, Ernest went on to serve his local community as a firefighter with the City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport. He later fought fires and rescued a number of lives with the United States Army. Ernest worked in various security jobs, as well. He was also one of the founding members of First Christian Church of Cumming where he served as a Trustee and Deacon. After moving to Kathleen, his new church home was First Christian Church of Perry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Berrey.

Ernest leaves his memory behind with his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Elizabeth Bartlett of Kathleen; and sons, Kenneth Bartlett of Hanahan, South Carolina and Raymond Bartlett of Cumming.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Perry. A funeral service will immediately follow in the church at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Bartlett will be laid to rest in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ernest W. Bartlett to the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
