W. L. Stokes

W. L. Stokes, 36, entered into rest on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

W. L. was born in Macon, Georgia on August 11, 1981 and was of the Baptist faith. Growing up in Macon, he attended Southeast High School and worked with the family business hanging sheet rock for a while. W. L. then went on to work with Safelite AutoGlass and later with the Glass Doctor on Watson Boulevard in Warner Robins.

On March 26, 2004, he made the lovely Ann Chapman his wife and together they had three beautiful children. W. L. loved his family deeply and was always very involved with taking care of his children. He made sure to always put a great emphasis on how important school was and helped them with their homework every evening. W. L. was also a huge sports fanatic who enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, but watching football was his absolute favorite, especially the Atlanta Falcons. Working on old cars was one of his favorite pastimes.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Singleton Adkins; and sister, Buffy Stokes.

W. L. leaves his memory behind with his loving wife of 13 years, Kathy Ann Stokes of Warner Robins; children, Miranda, Cherri, and Hunter Stokes, all of Warner Robins; father, Hugh Stokes of Macon; sisters, Duffy Register of Gray, Karen Urquhart of Warner Robins, Sammie Stokes of Pearson, and Stephanie Stokes of Warner Robins; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to a fund benefiting W. L. Stokes’ family. These gifts can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with ‘W.L. Stokes Memorial Fund’ written in the memo line.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Stokes’ arrangements.
