Warner Robins – Dorothy W. Schubert, 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 17, 1923, in Yankton, South Dakota, to the late Walter Glanzman and Violet DeVol Glanzman. She graduated from Yankton High School and received her registered nursing degree from Bethany Hospital school of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas. During World War II, she worked for Lockheed Corporation in Los Angeles, California. In later years, she worked as office manager for the family business, Lee's Rental Center in Warner Robins. Dorothy was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed family, friends, traveling, baseball and craft projects. She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Glanzman; daughter-in-law, Jana Johnson Schubert; and beloved daughter, Lisa Schubert.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Walter Schubert, Sr.; daughters, JoAnn (Gary) Jones, Jeannette (Jack) Knight, all of St. Louis, Missouri; sons, Walter (MaryAnne) Schubert, Jr., Bonaire, Ted (Shannon) Schubert, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Amy Knight, Erin (Tim) Delanty, Becky Knight and Mark (Kim) Jones, St. Louis; Morgan, Sean and Jackson Schubert, Warner Robins; three great-grandchildren; step-mother, Iris Glanzman, Medford, Oregon; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Chaplain Thomas Qualls officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon GA 31201 or American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road #359, Macon GA 31210.
