Ad1 Laforrest "Rob" Winslow Wellman, Iii, Us Navy (Ret.)

Rob Wellman, 51, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

Rob was born on April 13, 1965 in Rockland, Maine and grew up in Hope, Maine. He graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in Camden, Maine before enlisting in the United States Navy. Rob proudly served his country for 20 years retiring with the rank of Petty Officer First Class. During his years of active duty, he was stationed in Washington State where he owned and operated Brush Works. Brush Works was an auto body shop that specialized in auto painting and auto body repairs.

Following his retirement, Rob moved to Warner Robins. Here he began his career as an F-15 aircraft engine mechanic and was currently with ILG as a logistician at Robins Air Force Base. Rob was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed working on old cars, cooking, and hunting.

His son, Tad Wellman; father, LaForrest W. Wellman, Jr.; grandfather, Erland Fish; and uncle, Ronald Gordan, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Judy Wellman; sons, LaForrest Winslow "Robin" Wellman, IV ( Whitney) and Brandon Wellman; mother, Darlene Hosack (Fred); grandmother, Lillian Fish; brother, Mark Wellman (Robin); niece and nephew, Katelyn and Cody Chappell; father and mother in-law, Harold and Billie Chappell; and brother-in-law, Jason Chappell (Kelly).

Visitation with Rob's family will be Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Full military honors will be rendered to conclude the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Rob Wellman, III to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148.
