Albert Lee Layfield

Albert Lee Layfield, 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

Mr. Layfield was born on August 28, 1928 in Milledgeville. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. He worked in civil service and retired from Robins Air Force Base. He called Avondale Baptist Church his church home and was a member of Friendship Sunday School Class. His parents, John Albert Layfield and Susie M. Alford Layfield, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Helen L. Brown Layfield; children, Albert Wayne Layfield, Cochran, Delores L. Johnson, Byron, Walter Keith Layfield, Warner Robins, Richard Neil Layfield, Warner Robins, and Vance Edward Layfield, Byron; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Avondale Baptist Church in Macon, Pastor Marty Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery.
