Albert Ryon Smith, 29, entered into rest on Saturday, September 27, 2008.

Mr. Smith was born on July 13, 1979 in Americus. He was raised in Centerville and attended First Assembly of God in Warner Robins where he was active in the Royal Rangers. He was in ROTC at Northside High School until graduation in 1999. Mr. Smith was a certified fire fighter II and Houston County Volunteer firefighter at stations 6 and 1 from 2000 to 2007. For the past eighteen months, he had been employed as a Corrections Officer at the Al Burruss State Correctional Training Center in Forsyth.

His memory will forever be treasured by his mother, Marie E. Henson, Centerville; fiancée, Amanda Leigh Hollifield, Forsyth; brother, William Dominic Henson, San Diego, California; sister, Hannah Smith, Albany; uncle, Dominic Marasco, (Donna) Maryville, Tennessee; aunts, Lora Steinberg (Marvin), Oakfield and Elaine Rogers, Diamond Springs, California; step-mother, Kim Dykes (Joey), Albany; and a number of cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 at First Assembly of God in Warner Robins. Memorials may be given to the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation, P. O. Box 348390, Sacramento CA 95834-8390, the Houston County Volunteer Fire Fighters Fund, 200 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins GA 31088, or the Royal Rangers, First Assembly of God, 6040 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins GA 31099.
