Alma Jean Turner

On Tuesday, August 15, 2017, Alma Turner, age 72, exchanged her earthly life for eternal life with her personal Savior Jesus Christ.

Alma was born on December 31, 1944 in Perry, Georgia to proud parents, the late Eddie and Julia Polk. She accepted the Lord into her life at an early age at Spring Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Kathleen where she was a lifelong member. From the time she was young, Alma had a caring disposition and passion for helping people; this led her to enjoy caring for patients at Warner Robins Rehab and Nursing Center as a Certified Nurse Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Turner, Sr.; her parents; her granddaughter, Tanisha Walker; her sisters, Danie Bell Smith, Dorothy Pearl Mathis, Eddie Mae Williams, Julia Mae Harris, Jessie Mae Danville, and Bernice Kine; and her brothers, Johnny, Samuel, and Edward Polk, and Willie C. Lawson, Sr..

Alma leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Willie Slocumb (Veronica), James Slocumb (Lois), and Kenneth Slocumb, all of Warner Robins, and George Turner, Jr. (Pamela) of El Paso, Texas; daughters, Julie Slocumb, Sharon Glover (Leo), and Tabatha Armstrong (Anthony), all of Warner Robins; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; devoted friend, Neopolean Jordan; stepmother, Essie Polk; and sisters, Geraldine Scott and Rebecca Lynah.

A Homegoing Service will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. L.C. Ashford officiating. Following the service, Alma will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
