Angela Segars Gandy

July 17, 1961 — October 19, 2019

Angela Segars Gandy, 58, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The daughter of Talmadge Segars and Ernestine Brooks, Angie was born in Lexington, Kentucky. She grew up in Warner Robins and attended Warner Robins High School where she played basketball and ran track. Angie graduated from Warner Robins High with the Class of 1980. Shortly after graduation, Angie worked as an Emergency Medical Technician with Houston Medical Center for several years. She then went to work on Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant until her retirement. Angie was a member of Central Baptist Church. Her greatest accomplishments were her daughters, Karla, Melissa, and Kimberly. She enjoyed coaching them, along with their teammates, in softball and cheerleading and was known as Ms. Angie to all of the girls. Mothers are not created, they simply exist from the depths of their hearts and souls. Angie embodied grace and there wasn’t a room she walked into that she didn’t light up. She talked to everyone and made anyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger. She will be forever remembered as not only our mother, but as a daughter, sister, friend, little league coach, and mentor to many. She will be greatly missed.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Karla Renee’ Gandy of Jupiter, Florida; Melissa Lee Gandy of Atlanta, Georgia; and Kimberly Gandy McAtee (Austin) of Bonaire, Georgia; grandchild; Brooks Lanier McAtee; parents, Talmadge Segars and Ernestine Brooks; former husband and friend, Kenneth David Gandy; siblings, Teresa Gammage (Mark Helms), Robin Smith (Mike), Lynn Owens, and Tammie Segars, all of Warner Robins.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service celebrating the life of Angie immediately following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Owen Bozeman officiating. Afterward, Angie will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
