Annie Wilkes Rudd

Annie Wilkes Rudd, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Annie was born on March 5, 1927 in Claxton, Georgia and grew up in Baxley, Georgia. There, she taught school for a few years before deciding to make raising her children her full-time career. Annie spent her life faithfully serving her husband, her children, and the Lord. A longtime member of Northside Baptist Church, Mrs. Rudd enjoyed volunteering with the Houston Medical Center Auxiliary and the Red Cross.

Annie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas E. Rudd, Sr.; her parents, John Willie and Minnie Belle Wilkes; and her brothers, Carlos and Ray Wilkes.

She leaves her memory behind with her devoted children, Thomas Rudd, Jr. (Sharon) of Centerville and Amy R. Rains (Hanson) of Huntsville, Alabama; granddaughters, Meghan Patton, Allison Rains, and LeeAnn Turner; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb Turner and Avaley Beth Turner.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Mrs. Rudd will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Annie Rudd to the Houston Medical Center Auxiliary, 1601 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
