Anthony Thomas Epps

Anthony Thomas Epps, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022, following an extended illness.

Tony was born on May 10, 1960 in Fort Valley, Georgia to Willie Thomas Epps and the late Joanne Harrison Epps. He loved to be outdoors and was even happier if he was dropping a fishing hook into the water. If he was not outside, he was probably in front of the television watching NASCAR or some other sporting event. He spent twenty years as a self-employed house painter and enjoyed any type of work where he could use his hands. But the thing that brought him the most joy in life was the time he spent with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; his sister, Diane Collins; and his brother, Charles Larry Langston.

His memory will forever be treasured by his father, Tommy Epps of Warner Robins; his children, April Merritt (Daniel) of Douglas, Jessica Epps of Kathleen, Sarah Epps of Florida, and Abigail Epps of Florida; his grandson, Dustin Merritt; his former wife and close friend, Sherri Jackson of Byron; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

A graveside celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 7507 Old Gordon Road, in Dry Branch with Reverend Randall Nash and Reverend Marty Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour before the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Tony to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road PMB #359, Macon, Georgia 31210.
