Arlene Whitenack Mcdonald

December 24, 1928 — December 25, 2019

Arlene Ellen McDonald, 91 years old, of Atlanta, GA, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, one day after her 91st birthday. She had a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Arlene was born in Olathe, Kansas, and graduated from Olathe High School. Shortly afterward, she married Richard Allen “Dick” Whitenack and raised six children: Janet, Linda, Joan, Nancy, Rick and Dan Whitenack. Dick worked for Civil Service and they moved frequently – living in places such as Waco, TX, Warner Robins, GA, Abilene, TX, Dayton, OH, and Warner Robins (again).

A few years after Dick’s death in 1983, Arlene married Walter “Brown” McDonald and remained in Warner Robins for many years – ultimately moving to the Atlanta area around 2010. Brown McDonald passed away in 2011.

Arlene is survived by her six children, Janet McLendon (Jerry), Linda Courtney (Ray), Joan Davis (Steve), Nancy Wetrich (Jim), Rick Whitenack (Shar), and Dan Whitenack (Kerri). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Marc Wetrich, Scott Davis, Dustin Whitenack, J.B. Mclendon, Matt Wetrich, Brian Davis, Kaitlin Whitenack, Courtney Whitenack, and Andrew Whitenack; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden Whitenack and Greyson Whitenack.

She was preceded in death by Brown’s two children, Brown McDonald, Jr. and Cynthia Blair Belin, but is survived by Blair’s children, Ali Seay, Katie Lumbley, and Melissa Zabransky, and seven grandchildren, Ben Seay, Noah Seay, Mia Seay, Emma Lumbley, Arden Lumbley, Savannah Zabransky, and Rowan Zabransky.

Arlene also leaves behind a special friend, Robert Springer, who provided her with much love and encouragement.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088. After Mass, Arlene will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins.
