Arthur Daniel Shierling, Sr.

Arthur Shierling, 92, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2005 at Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, at First Baptist Church Centerville with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Shierling was born October 30, 1912 in Talladega, Alabama to the late Johnny and Lanie Shierling. After 20 years of service, he retired from General Motors in LaGrange, Illinois, where he worked as an Electrician in the Electro Motors Division. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Shierling was a member of First Baptist Church Centerville. In addition to his parents, his wife, Christine DeLaney Shierling, preceded him in death.

Survivors include, sons, Billy G. Shierling, Centerville; Dan Shierling, Jr., Homosassa, Florida; and Johnny Wayne Shierling, Palm Coast, Florida; daughter, Brenda Morgan, Warner Robins; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
