Bmcm Emanuel Yancey “E.Y.” Fry, Iii, Uscg Reserve (Ret.)

March 15, 1935 — July 28, 2022

BMCM Emanuel Yancey “E.Y.” Fry, III, USCG (Ret.), 87, entered into rest on the morning of Thursday, July 28, 2022.

E.Y. was born in Miami, Florida, on March 15, 1935, to the late Emanuel Yancey Fry, Jr. and Cortelyou Ball Fry. He proudly served in the Coast Guard Reserves for 37 years and retired with the rank of Master Chief. E.Y. spent over 20 years working with the Boys Scouts of America and was the recipient of The Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow and Silver Beaver award. A skilled ironworker for over 30 years, E.Y. played an instrumental part in the construction of Disney World, SeaWorld, and the Kennedy Space Center with the Ironworkers Local 808 in Orlando, Florida.

To say E.Y. enjoyed the outdoors would be an understatement; he loved exploring the woods in his jeep with his beloved dog by his side. He was passionate about his Harley Davidson and touring the open roads all over the United States. Above all, E.Y. put his faith in Jesus Christ and served as a Deacon and Elder in the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, E.Y. was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Heather Wolf.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Doris W. Fry; children, Mike Fry (Barbara), Janet Stout (Steve), Suzanne Hodges (James), Steve Fry (Ginny); grandchildren, Shannon Grissett, Stacia Johnson (Darren), Lacey Harris (Brandon), Raymond Dormer, Levi Fry, Tyler Stout (Sarah), Sally Scruggs (Matt), Jack Fry; great-grandchildren, Hailey Johnson, Jack Johnson, Hayden Wolf, Collin Johnson, Gunner Wolf, Sydney Grissett, Charlotte Scruggs, and Madeline Harris; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
