Barbara E. Simonton

Barbara E. Simonton, 80, held hands again with her beloved husband, Robert Simonton in heaven on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Barbara was born on June 17, 1937 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late Andrew and Goldie McCown Shannon. She served as a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service for 25 years and was a member of First Church of God in Paintsville.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cleon, Tom, Bill, and Larry Shannon, Lou S. Parker, and Hope S. Branham

Barbara’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving son, John R. Simonton (Lori) of Bonaire; grandchildren, John Robert “Bobby” Simonton II of Columbus and Alexandria Simonton of Statesboro; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of God in Paintsville, Kentucky with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Heaberlin will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Barbara E. Simonton to her church’s food pantry at First Church of God, 205 8th St, Paintsville, KY 41240 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
