Barbara Goodwin

On the afternoon of Sunday, January 28, 2018, Barbara Goodwin went to be with the Lord in heaven. She was 72 years old.

Barbara was born in Macon, Georgia on February 10, 1945 to the late Thomas E. and Margaret L. Edwards Dickerson. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. Barbara enjoyed cooking, especially during the holidays, gardening, and lake life. She attended Light House Community Church for many years.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 54 years, Jimmy Lewis Goodwin of Byron; children, Jimmy Goodwin, Jr. and Denice Goodwin Parker (Dayle), both of Byron; grandchildren, Bobbi Quinton, Jimmy Goodwin III, Amie Katlyn Parker, and Aaron “Buddy” Parker; siblings, Tom Dickerson of Conroe, Texas, Diane Tschantz (Bob) of Newnan, Georgia, Larry Dickerson (Ava) of Lizella, and Faye Hawbaker (Jim) of Huntington Beach, California; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Tidwell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Barbara Goodwin to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
