Barbara Louise Carson was born on January 1, 1933, to the late William McCoy and Annie McCoy in Baltimore, Maryland. She entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Barbara was known as Mrs. Carson, but most called her Grandma. She was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System. Barbara was the oldest of 7 children. She was united in Holy matrimony to Edward B. Carson on May 15, 1956. She traveled the world as a military wife until their last assignment landed them in Warner Robins, Ga in 1976. Barbara was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved cooking, traveling, spending time with her family and taking care of children. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Barbara was always first to offer help and ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.
