On December 28, 2021, Barbara Cross of Perry passed away unexpectedly following a heart-related issue. Born in Macon in 1945, Barbara was a lifelong resident of Perry. Her family will miss her deeply, but all are grateful for the 76 years of her life. Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband, Lee Cross; and her son, Lee Cross Jr. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Edward James May and Annie Ella May; her half-brother, Ernest Foster; and half-sister, Effie Knickerbocker; as well as her brother, Franklin May; and sisters, Evelyn Cox, Juanita Mason, and Vera McDonald.
She is survived by her beloved son, David (Angie) of Byron; her sisters, Opal David (Don), Shirley Reece (Floyd), and Faye Scott; and her brother, Larry May (June). She also leaves behind eight nephews, three nieces, seven great nephews, four great nieces, one great-great nephew and four great-great nieces.
