Barry Wyatt Wooten

January 31, 1953 — September 14, 2021

Barry Wyatt Wooten, classic car and music enthusiast, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, September 14, 2021, after injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 68 years old.

Born on January 31, 1953 in Fort Polk, LA, Barry was the son of Betty Wigington and the late Curtis Lemuel Wooten. He was the National Director of Service and Parts at Five Star Automotive Group, bringing his love of cars home with him to his own garage on many occasions. Additionally, Barry loved all kinds of music and could often be found playing on a guitar or harmonica. For fun, he enjoyed traveling, boating and just being on the water in whatever capacity. Barry loved with his whole heart and would do anything to help anyone, especially his family. If you needed assistance or asked for advice, you could be sure to get the response, “I know a guy,” before he dropped what he was doing to help. Anyone who knew Barry will forever remember him as a man who took his responsibilities seriously and did his best to be a good husband, father and provider to his family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Curtis “Curt” Daniel Wooten.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Beverly Wooten; children, Barry Wayne Wooten (Jenn), Wendy Ann Wooten Wells (Chris), Chris Moore and Stephanie Grizzle (Jeremy); grandchildren, Carly Wooten, Connor Wells, Kyla Wells, Christina Grizzle, Alyssa Grizzle, Josh Grizzle and Olivia Washington; great-grandson, Xavier Lee Kalberg; mother and stepfather, Betty and John Wigington; sisters, Brenda Wooten Smith (Toby Brown) and Melanie Bernal; brothers, Mark L. Wooten and Matthew C. Wooten; close aunts, Judy Pruitt and Debra Ashley; nephews and nieces, Justin Brazell, Amanda Washington (James), Hope Snell, Joy Bernal, London Bernal and Noah Bernal; brothers in heart, Gary Garrand and Steve Dupree; and a host of extended family members and friends.
