Betty Arnold Morath

August 28, 1930 — October 14, 2020

Betty Arnold Morath of Gray left this life to join her Heavenly Father on October 14, 2020. She was 90 years old.

Betty was born in Perry, Georgia to the late John Tillman Langston and Martha Virginia Prescott Langston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnnie Arnold and John Martin Morath; son, James Daniel Arnold; sister, Mary Rowland and brother, James Langston.

A 1947 graduate of Warner Robins High School, Betty was a member of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and the past president of the Women’s Business Professionals in Warner Robins. She was the owner-operator of Dependable Transport in Warner Robins for many years before she moved to the Lake Sinclair area where she owned and managed rental homes on the lake.

An outdoorsy woman, Betty was an avid gardener who enjoyed fishing and took pleasure in cutting the grass. She was an enthusiastic sports fan who liked basketball and NASCAR. Jeff Gordon in his No. 24 Chevy was her favorite driver.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Milledgeville and was the former treasurer of her Gap Sunday School class there. More than anything though, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She wholeheartedly supported them in all of their various activities and loved spending time with them.

Those who remain to treasure her memory include her son, Ronald “Ron” Dean Arnold of Acworth; daughters, Dr. Linda Arnold of Gray, and Ginger A. Grantham (Gary) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Amanda Nicole “Nikki” Branch, Gary David Grantham Jr. “David,” Sommer Rose Kile (Tyler), Erica Sue Walker, and Storm Russell Walker; and great grandchildren, Tyler Anne Pope and Phillip David Branch.

Visitation will take place from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery on Saturday, October 17, 2020. A private, family-only graveside service will be held immediately following visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the cemetery with Reverend Kenny Walker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Betty to Victory Baptist Church, 640 Meriwether Rd NW, Milledgeville, GA 31061.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at Encompass Hospice, especially Kimberly Ross, for all of the help and care they gave to Betty during her final days. Betty’s family would also like to thank her caregivers, Vastolvia “V” William, Lori Lee Stevenson, and Ruby Hurt for their dedication, thoughtfulness and love.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
