Betty D. Lightfoot

January 5, 1933 — June 24, 2021

Mrs. Betty Lightfoot, 88, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Mrs. Lightfoot was born on January 5, 1933, in Estherville, Iowa, to the late Morris and Katharyn Irwin. She grew up on a farm in Portland, Oregon, where she learned to admire the fruits of labor. Following her high school graduation, she attended Bible School in Portland. Upon moving to Warner Robins, she attended and was a faithful member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the church library, as well as, many other areas within in the church. Mrs. Lightfoot dedicated thirty years of service working with the Watkins Company and was often known throughout Houston County and several surrounding counties as the “Watkins Lady.”

Mrs. Lightfoot is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Paul Lightfoot; stepson, Paul Lightfoot; and first husband, Mr. William Rhinehart.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her stepdaughter, Patricia Scroggins (Butch) of Jacksonville, Florida; stepdaughter-in-law, Libby Lightfoot; step-grandchildren, Bruce Scroggins (Sherry), Neil Scroggins, Sean Lightfoot and Todd Lightfoot; step-great-grandson, Dalton Scroggins; numerous other step-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley Pearson (George) of Anchorage, Alaska and Charles Irwin of Warner Robins.

Visitation with Mrs. Lightfoot’s family will be Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with funeral services following at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Reverend Phil Bryant will officiate. Following the service, Mrs. Lightfoot will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Mrs. Betty Lightfoot to Sandy Valley Baptist Church at 1124 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or the Gideons International at P.O. Box 537, Warner Robins, Georgia 31099.
