Betty Jamie Slay

Betty Jamie Slay went to be with Jesus on December 19, 2018 at age 87.

She was a long term member of Northview United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and served as church treasurer twice. Jamie was also a member of the United Methodist Women and served as an officer for many years. She was employed by the City of Warner Robins first as a crossing guard at Parkwood Elementary School. She also volunteered at the Warner Robins Police Department prior to being hired as a radio operator. She later transferred as secretary to Warner Robins Civil Defense. Jamie also was a substitute teacher in the Houston County Public School System. Jamie was always an outdoors person and loved working in her yard and fishing on Lake Sinclair.

She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Slay, her parents James Pugh and Jesse Darnell Pugh, her sister Ethel Bass, brothers Carl, Floyd and Gordon Pugh, sister-in-laws Ruth Pugh and Frances Pugh.

She is survived by her son Barry (Virginia) Slay and daughter Sandy (Wendell) Faircloth, grandchildren Aryn Slay, Jennifer (James) Bridges and Brad Stone, great granddaughters Isabella Bridges and Kaylee Stone, brothers Billy (Rebecca) Pugh and David (Myra) Pugh, brother-in-law Bennie Bass, sisters in law Gerry Pugh and Joanne Pugh and many precious nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
