Betty Lou Ison Barker

September 22, 1932 — July 26, 2019

Betty is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. Betty is reunited with her mother, Eunice Ayers Ison; and was able to meet her father, Hezekiah Ison, for the first time on Friday, July 26, 2019. She was also reunited with her cousins that were like her sisters. Born a coal miner’s daughter, Betty never lost her mountain roots. She was a lover of country and gospel music. Betty worked as a Customer Service Representative for Blazer Financial Services for several years before her retirement. She always put her family first and was a devoted wife and mother. After retiring, Betty was a phenomenal caretaker of her mother. Betty loved nothing more than spending time at home with her loved ones. She will forever be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, and cousins, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Asher Lee Barker; brother, Wallace Ison, and great-granddaughter, Kaiya Barker.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Lisa Barker, Amy Terry (Phillip), and William Barker; grandchildren, Michael Steven Barker, Lauren Ashton Barker, Matthew Barker, Candice Barker, Jennifer Leigh Trainham, Brittany Lynn Terry (Carmen), Phillip Terry, Jr., and William Terry; great-grandchildren, Landon Frank, Kayden Frank, Holden Frank, Ariana Barker, Rhiannon Trainham, Caleb Trainham, Aaron James Trainham, Nicholas Amoroso, and one on the way, Ashlin Terry, and Brayden Terry.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
