Betty Lou Nelson

November 23, 1941 — October 29, 2022

Betty Lou Nelson, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and Bill Anderson enthusiast, entered into rest on the morning of Saturday, October 29, 2022. She was born in Hazlehurst, GA on November 23, 1941, the daughter of the late Arthur and Kennie Stapleton Register. If you knew Betty, you knew that her life revolved around two things: her family and Bill Anderson. She was devoted to both with complete love and admiration.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Nelson.

She is survived by her loving children, Jerry Thompson (Linda) and Lynnette “Moe” Shepp, both of Warner Robins; grandsons, Kenn Cunrod (Jessica) of Warner Robins, Jesse Thompson (Katie) of Macon; granddaughters, Renee Sparks of Tampa, FL, Sandie Meuller (Hans) of Macon, and Carol Bren and Nikki Pogue (Mathew), both of Warner Robins; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Allene Yawn of Hazlehurst and Karen Upshaw of Warner Robins.

Betty will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
