Betty Sims Long Ward

Betty Sims Long Ward, 74, went home to her lord on Saturday, September 17, 2005. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, September 19, from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Diabetes Association Georgia Affiliate, One Corporate Square, Suite 127, Atlanta, GA, 30329.

Mrs. Ward was born in Floyd County, Georgia on February 9, 1931. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Ward was a former Mrs. Rome, Georgia in 1949. Her husband, Revis Ward, Sr.; daughter, Jeanie Long Davis; and parents, Harvey and Madeline Sims, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Kitchens (Ronnie), Warner Robins; sons, Sonny Long, Jacksonville, Alabama; George S. Long (Louise), Warner Robins; Stephen Ward (Angela), Milledgeville; she was “Nana” to twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
