Beverly Ann Ard

In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 29, 2017, Beverly Ard, 79, passed away peacefully at Houston Medical Center.

Beverly was born on October 20, 1938 in Social Circle, Georgia to the late J.B. and Lucille Parham Canup. She was raised in Thomaston, Georgia where she graduated from R. E. Lee High School. After high school, Beverly worked for a short time for Southern Bell before marrying the love of her life, Jerry Ard. Together they moved to Warner Robins and began a family. While her children were young, she devoted herself to being a loving homemaker and mother. Later, Beverly went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and then received her Nursing degree from Macon State College. She began her nursing career at Hallmark Nursing Home before transferring to Houston Medical Center where she worked for 32 years before retiring. Beverly’s greatest joy was found in her family, especially her grandchildren and her grand puppies. An incredible listener, she was always there to hear the needs of her family and offer her support.

Along with her husband and parents, her daughter, Pamela Register, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Lisa Rooker (Randy) of Byron; Jerry Ard (Teresa) of Warner Robins; Jennifer Ridings of Warner Robins; grandchildren, BJ Ard; Bradley Rooker; Heather Lopez; Rhett Hood; Brandon Parham; Peyton Ridings; Hayden Ridings; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Gilbert; Sherrie Canup; sister-in-law, Barbara Hankinson; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Beverly will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
