Bobby Edwards

Bobby Edwards, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Mr. Edwards was a native of Houston County who had lived in Warner Robins since 1947 and was a 1954 graduate of Perry High School. He was the son of the late Frank M. and Lois H. Glover Edwards of Warner Robins, and the grandson of the late Henry W. and Ida Green Glover , and the late Monroe F. and Sally Woodson Perdue Edwards, who were all of Perry. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Marion Edwards, and a sister, Betty Ann Edwards Young.

Mr. Edwards attended GAB Business College, the University of Georgia, and Macon State College. He was a member of numerous civic organizations, including the Air Force Association and the Fraternal Order of IOOF of Georgia, of which he was a Past Grand Master. An avid lover of music, he was also a member of the Warner Robins Community Chorus, the Macon Civic Chorale, the Macon State College Chorus, and the Warner Robins Community Concert Association. A charter member of Crestview Baptist Church, Mr. Edwards served as church treasurer for many years. He also served there as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and member of numerous church committees over the years. He was retired from Warner Robins Air Logistics Center after 51 years in the DMM Directorate C-130 A/C. During his working career, he was also employed by several companies including Sasser Supply Market, Free Mac Clothing Company, Belk's Department Store of Warner Robins, and Town and Country Realty.

Mr. Edwards is survived by a twin brother, Billy Edwards, of Warner Robins; nieces and nephews, Stephen Marion Edwards, Michael Hays Edwards, Cynthia Lois Edwards Rowland, all of Byron, Lucy Ann Edwards Parks of Lizella, and Mary Ann Young Moore of Macon; as well as a number of great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Edwards is being laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry, Georgia. The graveside services will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Mr. Edwards.
