Cmsgt Billy M. Jones, Usaf (Ret)

Billy M. Jones, 76, went to his eternal home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born in Enterprise, Alabama to the late Samuel Jones and Carrie Baston Jones on January 17, 1936.

After graduating from Enterprise High School, Enterprise, Alabama in 1954, he joined the United States Air Force where he spent twenty-four years of service, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1978. His tours of duty included bases in Georgia, Alabama and Texas, and overseas tours included French Morocco, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked at the National Archives in Washington DC and HQ Air Force Reserve Command at Robins Air Force Base for twenty-three years and with Stover and Associates for five years.

During his military career, he became a graduate of Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He proudly served the United States Air Force with grace, honor, respect, and dignity to our great country. He received several commendations and medals for outstanding performances. He loved the U.S. flag and proudly wore it on his lapel.

Mr. Jones was an active member of Second Baptist Church, the Joy Jubilee Sunday School Class, Men's Helping Hands Ministry and XYZ Senior Group. His greatest loves were gospel music, his church, Alabama Football, grilling steaks on Saturday nights, NASCAR racing, and yard work. He will always be remembered for being friendly, outgoing, and for always smiling.

In addition to his parents, two brothers, Ray Jones and Floyd Jones; nephew, Larry Honeycutt; and sister-in-law, Arizona Jones, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Patsy; three sons, Greg Jones (Brenda), Mansfield, Texas; Terry Jones (Sinda), Franklin, Ohio; and Todd Jones, Bremen, Georgia; three daughters, Valorie Robertson (Lynn), Graff, Missouri; Cheryl Barker (Harry), Chouteau, Oklahoma; and Shawna Clark, Warner Robins; nine grandchildren, Brittny, Quinton, Dylan and Taylor Jones, Christopher and Stephen Tinsley, Stephanie Lueck, and Luke and Levi Clark; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Hulon Jones (Ann), Enterprise, Alabama; two sisters, Winnie Honeycutt, Montgomery, Alabama and Betty Jean Averett (Charles), Enterprise, Alabama; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to family and friends for the prayers and support given to them during Billy's illness.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Second Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Second Baptist Church Helping Hands Ministry or Building Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
