Cmsgt James M. Insko, Sr., Usaf (Ret)

July 30, 1922 — April 30, 2013

James M. "Pops" Insko, Sr., 90, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Mr. Insko was born on July 30, 1922 in Mt. Olivet, Kentucky to the late Nelson and Nellie Insko. With pride, honor, courage and commitment, CMSgt Insko faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of WWII, Korean conflict, and the Vietnam era. He retired after thirty one years of dedicated service. Subsequent to his distinguished military career, he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he was an aircraft sheet metal mechanic. He and his family have been residents of Warner Robins for forty three years. He was of the Methodist faith. "Pops" enjoyed bowling on the Starlighters League and spending time with his family and his cats. He loved watching college basketball, especially the Louisville Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats, and Duke University. A true American Patriot, he was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, member of the VFW Post # 6605, Moose Lodge #128, and the American Legion Post #172. He was a man of strong character and integrity, a legacy his family is proud to carry on. In addition to his parents, his loving wife of over sixty years, Lana H. Insko; brothers, Bill and Stanly Insko; sister, Mildred Strange; and step son, Ronnie McNeal, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Sharon Dodd (Randall), Carol J. Insko, and Sandra L. Marsh; son, James M. Insko, Jr. (Michele); grandson, Ty Insko; granddaughters, Kim McNeal Rush (Randy), Samantha L. Livingston (Cody), Stephanie Mobley (Anthony), and Carrie Fields; great granddaughter, Zoey S. Livingston, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held at a later date in Escondido, California. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to Westmoreland-Slappey Animal Hospital, (Ally Cats-c/o Melanie Salter) P.O. Box 1423, Perry, Georgia 31069.
