Cmsgt William S. Stetson

May 19, 1930 — December 25, 2016

William Stetson, 86, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016.

William S. Stetson was a dedicated family man, with a tremendous ability to love. He was born on May 19, 1930 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. William graduated from Boston Trade High School before attending the University of Georgia and the University of Maryland. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Known as "Chief" around town he proudly served our Federal Government for 48 years, 32 of which were in the Army Air Corp/United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam war.

The Chief was a faithful and loyal patron to the local businesses in Warner Robins and believed in supporting those businesses weekly. His blue eyes always managed to draw comments from the business he frequented. William Stetson was a kind and generous man.

One of Williams's greatest passions was the US Armed Services, for which he generously supported. Additionally, he amassed an extensive uniform collection which he restored and made available for use by Robins Air Force Base for many historical events in years past.

He enjoyed car restoration and took pride in his 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix. William was a grill master who loved spending time with his family and friends at every opportunity that presented itself.

William will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Saluta Stetson; daughter, Donna Stetson; mother, Margaret Stetson; father, John McDonald.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Michael Stetson (Denise) of Centerville, Tennessee; David Stetson (Lisa) of Bonaire, Georgia; Theresa Laster (Derwin) of Byron; grandchildren, Jessica Laster; Jason Stetson; Joseph Stetson (AnaLisa); Jacob Laster (Brooklynne); Jonathan Stetson (Katelyn); Mary Stetson; Natalie Stetson; Chad Stetson; Dylan Stetson; Brittney Foltman; Brandi Foltman; great grandchildren, William Laster; Kenneth Laster; Dalton Stetson; sister, Barbara Franklin of Springfield, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews.
