On Friday, April 1, 2016, William Baumann entered into eternal rest. He was 71.
William was born on June 24, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late William and Jean Baumann. A 20 year Navy Veteran, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Following his military career, Mr. Baumann worked as a chief electrician at Stetson University in Deland, Florida before retiring from there, as well.
Mr. Baumann prided himself as being "tech-savvy" and always kept up with updated items and material. He was also a Ham radio enthusiast with countless other hobbies he enjoyed including: photography, woodworking, playing chess, camping and snorkeling. William had several interests, but his home and family always came first. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Morgan and Jeannie Baumann; and brother, Michael Baumann.
He leaves his memory behind with his devoted wife of twenty-two years, Lyn Baumann of Warner Robins; children, Carol Baumann Murray (David) of Deland, Florida, Debra Tillman of Warner Robins, Larry Gifford (Amy) of Waycross, John Gifford of Warner Robins and Christopher Gifford (Kat) of Pinetta, Florida; eleven grandchildren; sister, Joan Diamond (Richard) of Palm Bay, Florida; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.
At the family's request, all services will be private.
