Calvin Ben Clark

Calvin Ben Clark, 84, left this world to join his beloved wife in Heaven on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

On October 24, 1930, Calvin was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia one of four children to the late Alvin George Clark and Esther Quinn Clark-Barlow. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from Kellwood Company as a product developer. Calvin was an avid gardener who had a "green thumb" and could make anything grow. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Centerville where he was very active in the Sutherlin Sunday School Class.

His beloved wife of 61 years, Janie Wylene Clark; son, C. Bruce Clark; parents; and sisters, Margaret Summerlin (Wadis) and Jaunita Barlow (Maynard), all preceded him in death.

Calvin's memory will forever be treasured by his loving son, Robert Clark (Wanda) of Warner Robins; daughter-in-law, Debbie Clark of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Amanda Brown (Bert), Justin Clark (Tabitha), Laurel Clark, and Amy Clark; great-grandchildren, Savannah Clevenger, Logan Brown, Addison Brown, Aiden Clark, and Chloe Pugh; brother, Odis Clark (Rose) of Forsyth; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Centerville with visitation one hour prior to the service. Dr. Allen Hughes and Reverend Mobley Cross will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA. or First Baptist Church Centerville, 108 Church Street, Centerville, GA.
