Carla J. Emerson Harris

April 24, 1958 — September 1, 2021

Early on the morning of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Carla J. Emerson Harris, 63, passed away unexpectedly at her residence.

Carla was born on April 24, 1958, and was raised in Montana. She was the daughter of Donald “Ike” Ameline of Montana and the late Elizabeth Ann Fenner. Carla called herself a “typical cowgirl.” She married Rodney Bruce Harris and together they made Warner Robins, Georgia, their home. Carla worked at Robins Air Force Base for 15 years. Feeling called to care for others; she later became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

In her spare time, Carla enjoyed casting a line into a watering hole waiting for the catch of the day. She was also a fantastic cook and could whip up some of the best southern meals. Carla loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. To say Carla was selfless would be an understatement; she always took care of everyone else before herself. Carla was a true example of what it meant to care for your neighbor and leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and generosity.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 43 years, Rodney Bruce Harris; children, Nichole Harris, Ginger Harris, and Carrie Foley, all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Catelynn and Nina Foley, and Molly Harris; siblings, Jerry Emerson (Kathy) and Bonna Gillespie.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
