Carleton F. "Carl" Gosline

July 20, 1972 — February 15, 2022

At the age of 49, Carleton F. “Carl” Gosline passed away at Houston Medical Center on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Born on July 20, 1972, Carl was the son of the late Dr. Eugene and Barbara Gosline. Carl was born and raised in Warner Robins. An epic gamer, Carl enjoyed video and online gaming. He also loved role-playing. From the age of eight, he was fortunate enough to attend Dragon-Con for 20 years and continued to attend as often as he could.

Although Carl faced many challenges, he always stayed positive. Carl graduated from The Vanguard School in Lake Wales, Florida, and worked at Kroger on Hartley Bridge Road in Macon. He was kind to everyone, and everyone was a friend in his eyes. Carl gave compliments freely and many would reply with, “What a sweet guy!” Passionate about helping others, he volunteered at the Museum of Aviation as well as the Houston County Sheriff’s Department in the 911 Center for over 20 years. Often the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, Carl won the Houston County Sheriff’s Department Volunteer of the Year Award in July of 2007. He also took delight in volunteering with the Children’s Miracle Network and the Red Cross. No matter who needed him, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A self-proclaimed actor since 2003, he would often audition for the Warner Robins Little Theater and Perry Players plays. When he was not performing, Carl loved to watch the shows. He also had a love for animals and enjoyed giving them all of his attention. Carl embodied what many of us strive to be and left an unforgettable imprint on his local community. He will be dearly missed by all.

His memory will be forever cherished by his siblings, Scott Gosline (Pam) of Duluth; Dr. Gregory Gosline (Nancy) of Hot Springs, North Carolina; David Gosline of Warner Robins; Anita Gay (Don) of Byron; Robbin Gosline of Warner Robins; and Daniel Gosline of Jackson; as well as nieces and nephews, Molly Gosline; Sandy Smith and her son, Joshua Cole; Chance Strozier (Kim) and their children, Riley and Kinsey; Jill Patterson (Scott); Daniel Gosline (Mookie) and their child, Aiden; Blanche Buecker (Jordan) and their children, Emerson and Colette; and Nat Paul Gosline.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial gathering with Carl’s family and friends will follow at The Farmhouse at McCullough, located directly behind McCullough Funeral Home.
