Carmela Marie Cento

Carmela Marie Cento, 90, entered into rest on February 16, 2023.

Carmela was born on February 21, 1932, in Manhattan, New York to the late Joseph and Elisa Orlando. A graduate of CCNY in New York, Carmela earned a Bachelor of Accounting and went on to work for a CPA firm. She met and married her sweetheart of 68 years, Vincent, and raised their three children. Later, the family relocated to Warner Robins and Carmela would go on to work and retire as a Contract Negotiator in Civil Service for Robins Air Force Base. Carmela had many interesting hobbies when she wasn’t working or caring for her family, including gardening, knitting, bowling, a member of the Sweet Adelines, and even learning to play the guitar.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Vincent Cento of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, Vinny Cento (Jane) of Sunrise, Florida, Peter Cento (Lora) of Beach Grove, Tennessee, and Carol Harrison (Steve) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Cento, Jason Cento, Ryan Cento, Stephen Harrison (Kristi), Johnathan Harrison (Addie), and Matthew Harrison (Ena); her sister, Jennie Lazaro of Holtsville, New York; great-grandchildren, Peyton Harrison, Daxton Harrison, Emma Harrison, Ella Harrison, and Isla Harrison; along with many other loving family members and friends.

A Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at McCullough Funeral Home, with a visitation immediately following until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in the school chapel. Afterward, Carmela will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
