Carolyn Faye Dembowski

December 17, 1949 — February 3, 2016

Carolyn Faye Dembowski, 66, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Carolyn was born on December 17, 1949 in Macon, Georgia. Beloved daughter and loving sister, she was a lifelong resident of Warner Robins and a 1969 graduate of Northside High School. Carolyn was active in her faith community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; she especially enjoyed ushering and greeting people at services. Carolyn belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Warner Robins Pioneers, the Day Lily's Club, Warner Robins Senior Citizens, the Jaycees, a bowling league, and the Council of Catholic Women. She recently served as President of the Residences' Council at Chaplinwood Health and Rehab. For the past several years, Carolyn lived in Chaplinwood Health and Rehab in Milledgeville and the family wishes to thank the staff for their love and the care they provided her.

Carolyn worked a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime, including the weekly Buyers Guide, NAMI flower nursery, Jakani's Pet Grooming, and several restaurants. Her favorite job was at the Buyers Guide because her boss, David Crenshaw made it fun.

She had a mischievous and playful sense of humor and an artistic soul. Carolyn loved painting, crafting and making things with her hands. Many were gifted with her sand dollar Christmas ornaments through the years. She had a green thumb and could coax anything to grow. Carolyn doted on her nieces and nephews, often gifting them with her time and treasures.

Carolyn is survived by siblings, Rosalie Sugrue and John (Vanessa) Dembowski, both of Warner Robins, James Dembowski (Leigh) of Norman, Oklahoma, Mary Ann Johnson (Larry) of San Antonio, Texas, and Joan Pottinger of Columbia, Missouri; and many adoring nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great grand-niece. Carolyn is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph and Mary Dembowski.

A Rosary will be said on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the service, Carolyn will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
