Carrie Faye Turner

Carrie Faye Turner, a lifelong resident of the middle Georgia area, passed away at home peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was born on February 12, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Hubie Alton and Mary Williams Mask.

Carrie’s life revolved around being a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caregiver to her family and others in need. Her leisure time was spent shopping, dancing, playing cards, gardening, and enjoying flowers. Carrie’s life was one well spent; she lived life to the fullest and made the most out of every moment.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew “Andy” Jackson Turner; son, David Newborn; and sisters, Dena Dowdy and Wanda Jordan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Regina Lucas; grandchildren, Tess Chambers (Matt), Samantha White, Darrick White, Kendra Whittington, David “Mann” Newborn Jr., Josh Newborn, and Amanda Newborn; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Whittington, Kevin Whittington, Jr., Joe Waid III, Makayla Newborn, Christian Newborn, Bryson Batson, Alex Newcome, Jr., Zach Perry, Hannah Perry, Jacob Perry, Marley Lindsey, Madison Lindsey, and Hunter White; and sisters, Mary “Candy” Bagley, and Patricia McDaniel.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor John Brigmond officiating. Carrie will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will gather and receive friends following the service at 113 Addington Drive in Kathleen.
