Charles “Steve” Stephen Kirchner

August 18, 1942 — October 24, 2020

Charles Stephen Kirchner, 78, of Bonaire, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at home where his loving wife and children were at his side.

Charles was born in Tuscola, Illinois, the son of Charles Norman and Elizabeth Fullerton Kirchner on August 18, 1942. He was the oldest of three children.

Charles also known as Steve by his family and friends married his high school sweetheart, Sarah J. Armstrong on October 12, 1962.

He started his life as a farmer and was a truck driver/ owner operator for over 30 years. Charles was a member of the Shriners and a Mason of the Middle Georgia Daylight Lodge #756 in Bonaire.

Charles and Sarah raised their two children, Brad and Pam in Morrisonville, Illinois, and later in life moved to Bonaire, Georgia.

Charles loved car shows, drinking coffee at Best Hardware, NASCAR, and old western movies however, most important in his life was his family. Charles was of the Methodist faith.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sarah Joyce Kirchner; son, Brad Kirchner (Robynne) of Perryville, Missouri; daughter, Pam Lindsey (Thomas) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Danielle, Stephen, Tarah; three great-grandchildren; sisters; Carol Harris of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Barbara Bach of Hagerstown, Maryland.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
