Charlie L. Thwaites, 76, entered into rest on Saturday, May 24, 2008.

Mr. Thwaites was born in Atlanta on September 2, 1931. He was a self-employed builder and painter, a member of Central Baptist Church and the Joyner Sunday School Class. He served his country with pride and honor in the U. S. Air Force and participated in the Korean Conflict. His first wife, Dolores Smoak Thwaites, and parents, Charlie Thwaites and Edna Thwaites, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce W. Thwaites, Warner Robins; son, Chet Thwaites (Debra), Rome; daughter, Doreen Thwaites Smith (Chris), Warner Robins; grandsons, Christopher, Daniel and Ben Smith; step-daughters, Cindy Byrd, Forsyth and Debra Adams, Gray; stepson, Dale Norman, Warner Robins; step-grandchildren, Kelly Collins, Becky Adams Strozier, Brooke Adams Deason ; step-grandchildren: Carter Collins, Devin Strozier, Logan Strozier, Slade Strozier and Addyson Deason.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
