Christel "Chris" Miller

December 31, 1942 — September 17, 2022

A beloved wife of 61 years, Christel “Chris” Miller passed away at Houston Medical Center on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She was 79 years old.


Born in Bredstedt, Germany, on December 31, 1942, Chris was the daughter of the late Paul Max and Grete Ketelsen. At the young age of 16, she moved from Germany to California. Chris later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University with a Master’s Degree. She never complained about moving to various destinations and was a proud supporter of her husband, Gary’s United States Air Force career. Chris held a number of job titles through the years, but her favorite was the former Director of the Red Cross on Robins Air Force Base. Chris was loved and cherished by many and was the love of her husband’s life.


In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her siblings, Hildegard Schmidt-Peterson and Margret Hilbert.


In addition to her loving husband and best friend, Gary Eugene Miller of Warner Robins; Chris is survived by her sister, Renate Jaurgensen of Germany.


At the family’s request, all services held will be private.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made in memory of Chris to the American Diabetes Association, GA Affiliate, 233 Peachtree St., Harris Tower, Ste. 2225, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
