Christine Miles

Christine Miles, 86, entered into rest on Friday, July 22, 2011.

Ms. Miles was on born June 3, 1925 in Byromville, Georgia, and retired as a Gyro Technician in civil service at Robins Air Force Base. A member of Evergreen Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School and Training Union teacher. Her love of playing basketball in high school carried over to her enjoyment of watching all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves. Another favorite pastime was fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Hill Butler and Lyda Mae Hall Butler; five brothers and three sisters.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Jackie M. Welch, Warner Robins, Buddy Miles (Judy), Warner Robins, and Edgar Miles (Pat), Macon; sister, Nell Miles, Bainbridge; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in the chapel of Magnolia Park Mausoleum, Dr. Owen Bozeman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 810, Memphis TN 38101.
