Cmsgt. Anthony S. Wachowiak, Usaf (Ret.)

CMSgt. Anthony S. Wachowiak, USAF (Ret.), 76, died Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 3 in the Robins Air Force Base Chapel with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Father Thomas J. Fey will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

CMSgt. Wachowiak was born in Peru, Illinois, to the late Stanislaus and Stanislava Wachowiak. He was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as an electrical engineer in the 5th MOB. He also served in the United States Navy and Army Air Corps prior to enlisting in the US Air Force. He was a member of Our Lady of the Skies Parrish, the Warner Robins VFW, NARFE, and the Robins NCO Club.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mildred Rogers Wachowiak, Warner Robins, GA; five children, Theresa Wachowiak, Augusta, GA; Pat (Allen) Hickman, Warner Robins, GA; Michael (Paula) Wachowiak, Kathleen, GA; Elaine McCollum, Atlanta, GA; and Eileen (David) Harris, Prattville, AL; two brothers, Chester Wachowiak, Florida; and Henry Wachowiak, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
