Col. F.O. White, Jr., Usaf (Ret.)

Col. Floyd O. “F.O.” White, Jr., age 80, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at home after a battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

F.O. was born on February 2, 1938 in Wink, Texas and grew up in Wickett, Texas. After completing high school, he attended Texas Western College majoring in mechanical engineering. F.O. entered the aviation cadet program, completed undergraduate pilot training at Vance Air Force Base, and was assigned to SAC as a KC-97 co-pilot. After serving a tour of duty, F.O. left active duty to continue his studies at the University of Texas. F.O. continued his role as a pilot in the Air Force Reserve flying the C-119, C-124, and C-130, ultimately achieving the rank of Colonel. He retired after 34 years in Warner Robins, Georgia where he served as Chief of Flight Safety at AFRES and Branch Chief in the Engineering Division at the Air Logistics Center.

F.O. was an active member at Second Baptist Church and Berean Baptist Church. He followed Christ’s example to spread the gospel to every nation and shared his testimony at every opportunity. He believed there is only one path to salvation, Jesus Christ. (John 3:16).

Mr. White is survived by his wife, Sue, and three children, Trey, Cyndi, and John (Melanie). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Lindsay (Chad), Tyler (Sammie), Trenton, Hunter, and Kurt; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Slade and Pastor Joe Bowker officiating. Mr. White will be laid to rest at 12:00 p.m. in Andersonville National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of F.O. White to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. White’s arrangements.
