Col. Harry A. Stafford Iii, Usaf (Ret.)

Col. Harry A. Stafford III, USAF (Ret.), passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, October, 4 at Central Baptist Church with interment following at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Central Baptist Church, Joy in the Journey, 1647 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA, 31093, or Portsbridge Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Col. Stafford was born in Val Vleck, Texas. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from the United States Air Force. He was also retired from the Houston County Board of Education where he had been the ROTC instructor at Warner Robins High School. Col. Stafford was a member of Central Baptist Church and Dr. Bill Conrad’s Sunday School class. His father, Harry A. Stafford II, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Stafford, Kathleen; mother, Dorothy Stafford, Van Vleck, TX; daughter, Jennifer S. Burkhalter (Rob), Corning, NY; son, Harry A. Stafford, IV, (Laura) Tuscaloosa, AL; brothers, John Stafford and Edward Stafford, both of Van Vleck, TX; Richard Stafford, Houston, TX; and grandchildren, Lane Elizabeth Stafford and Harry A. Stafford V, both of Tuscaloosa.
