Col. Kenneth William Logan, Usafr (Ret.)

December 8, 1927 — August 14, 2017

Ken was born in Billings, Montana, December 8, 1927 to the late William E. and Florence Snow Logan. After separating from the Army, Ken graduated from Topeka’s Washburn University receiving his Reserve commission and reached the rank of Colonel in the USAFR. He received Reserve Officer of the Year in 1977. As a civilian, Ken reached the rank of EW Branch Chief where he received accommodation from the Royal Saudi AF Chief of Military Assistance for personally negotiating the sale of Air Craft and spare parts. Ken also received an accommodation from the Secretary of Defense for developing purchasing processes.

He was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church along with his wife, Ruth and an active member of the Hope Sunday School class. Other activities included Noon Optimist, golf (hole in one), running and tennis clubs (City Champion). Ken also won a gold medal in the Senior Olympics. He and his wife bicycled a U.S. West to East coast trip for the Lung Association, an entire South to North trip for the Methodist Youth Home of Macon, and a Canadian Great Lake parameter ride for other charities.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Mike and Byron Logan.

Ken’s memory will be treasured by his loving wife of 64 years, Ruth; his sons, Kevin (Annette) of Warner Robins, David (Teresa) of Jackson, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Logan of La Vernia, Texas; five grandchildren, Christopher, Cynthia, Whitney, Erin, and Steven; three great-grandchildren; and brother, John (Gwen) of Dearborn, Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Logan’s arrangements.
