Col. Neal Leeds Mcfeeters, Usaf (Ret.)

April 20, 1951 — September 2, 2022

Neal Leeds McFeeters, 71, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 2, 2022, with family by his side.


Born and raised in Philipsburg, PA, Neal was the son of the late William B. and Rhoda S. McFeeters and a graduate of Philipsburg Osceola Area High School. He was a proud Penn State University Honors Graduate and Blue Band member. After graduating, he was the Director of Bands for the West Branch Area School District in Morrisdale, PA.


In 1979, Neal commissioned in the United States Air Force where he proudly served for 26 ½ years and retired having attained the rank of Colonel. Following his military retirement, he continued service to his country with a successful career in defense contracting. Within this profession, he held a number of different positions to include: serving as the Director of Programs and Business Development Engineering Development Labs and being on the Board of Directors Signal Technologies Laboratories, both in Dayton, OH, serving as Director of ARINC Special Operations Branch, and as the Senior Director of ARINC Aircraft Integration and Modification Division where he headed up high visibility special operations and international programs in the U.S., Iraq, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Russia.


Along with being effectual in his military and defense contracting careers, Neal was an accomplished musician, composer and arranger and enjoyed being a member of the Middle Georgia Concert Band in Macon. He was an avid golfer and award-winning photographer, and competition judge. Neal was a member of First Baptist Church in Perry. Although Neal was heavily involved with his career and hobbies, he always made time for family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son-in-law, and Poppy to his 10 grandchildren.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Pamela C. McFeeters of Perry; children, Joseph Newman (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC, Col. USAF Michael McFeeters (Amanda) of Arlington, VA, Noelle Haan (Andy) of Clinton, IA and Jennifer Chapman (Steven) of Orlando, FL; mother of his children, Ginni Odom of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Natalie, Noah, McKenzie, McKayla, McKenna, Kirsten, Faith, Ava, Harper and Sadie; siblings, William McFeeters (Eleni) of Montana, Carol McFeeters of Warner Robins and sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Jimmy Reeves of Perry; brother-in-law, Phillip Carter of Lake Park, GA; mother-in-law, Betty Carter of Perry; and a number of extended family members and friends.


Visitation with Neal’s family will take place on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Neal will be laid to rest in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake Park, GA .
