Constance "Connie" Peek Kovach

September 28, 1945 — June 4, 2015

Constance "Connie" Peek Kovach entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from a cardiac event in her sleep during a honeymoon cruise to Alaska.

Connie absolutely loved to travel and was so excited to go whale watching for the first time. She was an amazingly kind and caring woman with an adventurous spirit who never turned down a chance to see or do something new. The family that she created as a wife, mother and grandmother has created an amazing legacy of intelligent, diligent workers with compassionate hearts and wild imaginations. Connie was the walking depiction of what a grandmother should be. She could create an extravagant tea party complete with glorious hats in minutes using only paper plates and fabric scraps. Connie made the ordinary exquisite with an armory of glitter glue and art accessories and transformed the mundane into exciting simply by the way she presented it. Though her absence in her family's daily lives will be painful, the memories she created with us have changed us forever.

She retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base in 2007 and was able to spend many happy years traveling with her husband and volunteering, as well as spending time with her family. Connie enjoyed seeing the world and taking in the arts. She spent over 40 years as a volunteer with the Special Olympics in Middle Georgia and began volunteering with Meals on Wheels two years ago as well. It was Connie's goal to make people happy whether they were family, friends or strangers.

Connie is survived by her husband, Michael Kovach. They were married on February 20, 2015. She is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Buster Peek, Craig Peek (Pamela), Robert Daniel Peek Jr. (Christina), Michael Kovach, Jr and Kelly Sitrin (Eric); grandchildren, Buster Peek Jr., Brandon Clakely, Kelly Cunningham, Ashley Peek, Courtney Peek, Isabelle Peek and Robert Peek III; and great-grandson Tatum Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Peek, who passed away in 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
