Cora Lee Adams

Cora Lee Adams, 87, entered into rest on Friday, December 9, 2016.

Cora was born to the late Postell and Mattie Summerlin on March 12, 1929 in Hazelhurst, Georgia. Affectionately known as "Granny", she was the last surviving charter member of Northside Baptist Church in Centerville where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.

Her beloved husband, Vernon E. Adams; brothers, Wadis, Hoyt, Ronal and Bobby Summerlin; sister, Lurene Rentz and parents preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted children, Russell E Adams (Janet) of Byron, Joyce Adams of Warner Robins and Glenda Parton (Scott) of Eatonton; grandchildren, Allison Adams and Sara Adams, both of Byron, Lori Vandhitch of Milledgeville, Becca Vandhitch and Abby Parton, both of Eatonton, Amanda Walters of Perry and Brandon Parton (Jessica) of Warner Robins; sister, Carolyn Thompson of Hazlehurst and brother, Lavan Summerlin of Statesboro.

Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Cora will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Cora Lee Adams to the Alzheimers' Association at 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or Heart of Georgia Hospice of 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
