Cynthia Ann Mcclelland

Cynthia McClelland, 57, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

Cynthia was born on April 6, 1960 in Valdosta, Georgia and was of the Methodist faith. She attended Valdosta Technical College and was the office manager at Access Credit in Gray for many years. Cynthia also enjoyed serving as President of Westside High School’s Band Boosters. In 2008, she and her husband John moved to Columbia, South Carolina.

Cynthia enjoyed many things to name a few including birds, golf, bowling, dancing, and dogs. Her family was always her top priority and she was always the glue that held them together as they frequently moved around. Her unfailing ability of making people laugh, her beautiful smile, and her outlook on life will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Patricia Trimmer Guess; and her siblings, Richard Guess, Mary Beard, and Priscilla Ennis.

She leaves her memory behind with her loving husband of 35 years, John C. McClelland of W. Columbia, South Carolina; daughters, Vanessa Hill (Justin Schmidt) of Asheville, North Carolina and Jessica Foskey (Richard) of Byron; grandchildren, Ruben Hill, Maisy Schmidt, and John Foskey; brother, J. Gordon Guess of Asheville, North Carolina; and nieces and nephew, Leslie Gross (Justin), Sonya Mines (Clay), Patsy Reed, Serena Ostrowski (James), Rayna Barber (Darrel), and Wes Crawley.

Visitation will be Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Cowles officiating.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Cynthia McClelland to the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia, 2951 Flowers Road S., Atlanta, GA 30341.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. McClelland’s arrangements.
