Daniel Arthur Greene

Daniel Arthur Greene, 78, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Zebulon Park Health and Rehab in Macon.

Daniel was born on July 12, 1939 to the late Henry Arthur and Erma Clark Greene in Miami, Florida. Growing up in Miami, he graduated from Miami High School in 1957 and went on to earn an Air Frame and Power Plant Technician Degree from the Embry Riddle Aeronautical Institute. In the early 1960’s, Daniel bravely decided to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for seven years where he worked on airplanes while simultaneously working with Delta as an A and P mechanic. Mr. Greene later began a career at IBM as a customer engineer and was promoted to the sales division in 1972. He and his wife, Linda were able to enjoy living in Key West from 1964 until 1965 with this job. At the time of his promotion, he moved with his family to Warner Robins and continued to work with IBM until his retirement. Not content to sit around after retiring, Daniel pursued a career as a financial consultant for Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Greene took to many hobbies in his lifetime. As a teenager, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the everglades and loved catching non-poisonous snakes. As an adult, Daniel enjoyed training and showing dogs, bass fishing, and drag racing at the Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds. He also enjoyed attending driving schools and participated in Autocross events sponsored by Sports Car Club of America.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Harrison Greene.

Daniel’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Greene of Warner Robins; son, Jonathan Daniel Greene (Heather) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Abbye and Jake Daniel Greene; and siblings, Adriane McClenny (Jimmy), Erma Slager (Bruce), and Sheryl Miller (Cliff).

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony McPhail officiating. After the service, Daniel will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Daniel Greene to Centerville United Methodist Church, 600 N. Houston Lake Blvd, Centerville, GA 31028.
